I hacked this server and I can skip to the last scene of any game and press one button and I beat it...
def not fun..

I play Gears of war online and cheating gets very annoying all though the "cheats" in this game are not that terrible to make it unplayable

I am vehemently against cheats in single player games to get past a frustrating point or whatever. I approve of cheats in single player games to have fun. Like entering the all weapons cheat/tank cheat in GTA III or something similar to that.

I don't cheat in single player games, I don't really see what the point is. I mean I'll look up something on Gamefaqs if I've looked forever and can't figure it out, but I'm careful to just look at that one part. I enjoy the challenge of single player games, but I'm not going to spend 15 hours looking for one last thing. I'm much more apt to use gamefaqs if I'm trying to "find" something rather than kill something if that makes any sense. Still, I do this very rarely, as little as I can. Games cost a lot of money and to me it's much more enjoyable to do as much as I can by myself. If someone wants to cheat in single player games though, I can understand, it's just not for me really. I'm not against it, people can do what they want...I just don't really see the point I guess?

Obviously cheating for "fun" as Blackize said is a whole different thing.

Cheating in online multiplayer just plain sucks and is fairly pointless to me. "OMG, I TOTALLY BEAT YOU, YOU CANNOT STOP ME WHEN I USE THIS GLITCH!"

I don't use cheat codes, but if the codes are in the game itself, put there by the developers, then I don't look down on it. Gameshark devices, no way (except for fun).

I actually lied, I have used cheat codes on occasion. I used them for GTA2 so that I could get through the difficult P.O.S. and move on to GTA3. I've never used one for the GTA3 series, even for fun.

If I was going to go back and play a game like Turok for N64 just to see what the fuss was about, I would be okay with using cheat codes.

I think the first one was mediocre, but a good number of people made a fuss about it. The second one is supposed to be very good though.

This just about sums up my personal thoughts. I don't use single player cheats myself, but people can do whatever. What I always find completely retarded, is when someone says "oh yeah, that game was only fun for about 10 minutes" and then they go on about how they used a gameshark and they can't understand why everyone else found the game to be a challenge.
