We will know fairly quickly what is going to be spread. But I would expect there to be some higher limit games over the the week. I would expect 5/10 nl to run fairly regularly, assuming enough out of towners are here.

Bottom line is it is really hard to predict what they will spread, and unfortunately in many ways the people who run the regular room (Where the cash games will be taking place) are really slow to start new games. We will see. Now to figure out how I can escape from work long enough to hit a few tourneys. Would really like to go today......

Where will they be holding the WSOPC events? Will they be using the normal poker room for the events at all?

they're using the whiskey roadhouse restaurant for tournament seating now. the poker room is being used for cash games. not sure if they plan on using both rooms for tourneys if/when they overflow the whiskey room.

Hi guys, got knocked out of event #1, the $300+40 NLHE event. Here is a rundown of what I know

1. Not sure of the final numbers for event #1, but I believe they were saying 500+. They have 18 tables in the main poker room and 30ish in the whiskey roadhouse. They started us 11 handed, which sucked. You get 1500 chips and 25/25 blinds with 40 min. levels. I played a few pots early and didn't connect with a single flop and found myself down to 1000, and then out on a CO raise with JJ ran into QQ.

2. They are breaking tables in the main poker room first, and then filling those with cash tables. Yesterday I played a little 2/5 NL and they were very close to getting enough interest for 30/60 limit HE, so it looks like there will be plenty 5/10 NL and probably 30/60 limit this weekend, in addition to HO mixed games and possibly 5/10 PLO.

3. The second chance tournies begin at 5 PM every day throughout the series and have 30 minute levels with, I believe, 1500 starting chips.

4. Once more space becomes available in the whiskey roadhouse, they start single table satellites, which are almost a complete joke. Firstly, the juice is $25+10 and $35+10, so don't enter those if you like money. I entered 2 $55+10s and you get 500 chips with 25/25 starting blinds and 15 min. levels. I actually won one, but only b/c I was getting dealt big pairs like crazy. I wanted to play a $110+10 SNG, but there wasnt enough interest, I believe you get 800 chips in those, which is slightly better, but these seem like a complete waste of time, unless maybe you play the $500s or something.

I think I will be playing exclusively cash when not in one of the tournies.

This is terrible. I think I'll find a monkey to bring with me and tell him to push anytime he sees two cards that match or that have pretty faces on them.

I'm looking forward to getting there and hitting the cash games.

I was looking at the structure and belive it or not I think that if you are going to play in the sat's the $55 are the worse you start with a m of 10. In the lower buy in you start with a m of 16. The first level that gives you more than m16 are the 180's those are the same as the 175's at the wsop t1000 25/25 blinds so you get a starting m of 20 not very good but even with the crappy structure the sat's at the wsop are very soft not hard to get to the final two and chop.

Thanks for all the info. guys.....I PM'ed a couple of the guys to see if they wanted to grab a beer or play in some games before Friday's game. I'll be playing in the #5 as I mentioned before.

Let me know if anyone is interested. Think it would be pretty fun to get a group of us together before all the mayhem begins.

so 30ish tables in whiskey roadhouse and 18 in poker room = approx 50 tables. even 11 handed, this means each tourney has a max of 550 entrants?

This is correct, I think event 1 had 554, and there were a handful of alternates.

BTW, is anyone doing anything in either tourney. I flamed out early in event 1, and in the 5 PM 2nd chance things were going great, tripled my stack in first 90 minutes, then lose a critical CF, fought back to about 5k chips with 75/300/600 blinds then got busted about 24th (18 paid) with KK vs. A6s all in pre.
