Actually having an imagination. I used to be able to play with legos or something for hours on end without getting bored.

[/ QUOTE ]

Am I alone in that I never actually "played" with legos? I always just built these massive structures and placed the people around in a scene, but once the scene was set, I admired it for a few moments, and then smashed it and started over.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't think I ever got into Lego people. The only major project I can remember doing with Legos was building various cars and trying to work on designs that would survive best when run down the railing alongside our basement stairs. Since I didn't really put any constraints on the design, it was perhaps not as informative as it could have been.

Awesome birthday cakes. My mom is an amazing chef and baker and would always ask what I wanted. She made all kinds of crazy stuff, like a cake that looked like a cat and a very ornate gingerbread house.

[/ QUOTE ]

There is no reason this should stop.

I always make a big deal of my bday, and if I wanted a cat cake, I would ask for an get a cat cake.

There's another one: really giving a [censored] about my birthday. It almost (not quite) comes and goes these days without my caring about it particularly much.

Being able to play with Legos again is pretty much the sole reason I'd even consider having kids.

[/ QUOTE ]

Wow my brother says this all the time haha.

My daughter was born in October 2006. In April 2006, I visited my parents and they gave me one of their cars, as my dad bought a new one. The first things I packed for long drive home (Milwaukee to Atlanta) were three huge boxes of Legos so that I could play with them with my kid.

I need to find all my Lego spaceships. Those and Atari games were my favorite childhood presents.

Saturday AM Cartoons

Barbies....mine were pimped out, I had ALL the houses/cars/friends/outfits, etc. etc.

Star Wars Figurines - Then the damn dog chewing them all up.

Catching crawdads from the Phoenix canals and cooking them in a small bonfire made near the fort we had built for that summer.

Taking over the neighborhood on our bikes.

Thinking we were learning how to french kiss, but no tongue was involved.

Turning out all the lights in the house and playing "Spider" where only the "Spider" could touch the floor, or playing hide and seek in the dark.

Having to come home when the streetlights went on.

Fighting like mad with the siblings.

superb post idea and execution.

i miss sleepovers. i wish people weren't so reluctant to crash at somebody else's house. i think it's fun to hang out, watch movies, play board/video games, etc until late hours and then grab ihop after sleeping in the next day. now they're worried about their contact solution or how uncomfortable a couch might be. the only time it seems to happen now is post-party when the ability to drive is impaired. they're an incomprehensible puking liability at that point, and usually gone before you wake.

Yeah. The kid with the green machine also had Intellivision as soon as it came out, the Millenium Falcon, and the whole Space Lego set.
