I think you're probably better off not going - say you have other commitments. It looks worse just showing up for 10 minutes and then taking off.

i'd probably stay for an hour.

I just had my bachelor party in Vegas last weekend. Ten guys were invited, but only six attended. One even cancelled last minute.

I have no hard feelings at all towards any of the guys that did not show. They did each have legitimate reasons for bailing, though.

not travelling, all local. it's not a big ordeal. just them grabbing a bite at an english pub, then going to a strip club. would you be dissappointed if a number of folks were invited, and people didn't show up?

uh no. just the people in the party, usually. i am the best man in a wedding in 3 weeks and i sure as [censored] am not planning on more than 4-5 guys to show up/

[/ QUOTE ]
I have never heard of a bachelor party being so restricted. I assume you mean that only the members of the wedding party are EXPECTED to attend. The average attendance of bachelor parties I've attended has been in the 10-20 person range.

That seems easy; just don't invite any more. The bachelor parties I've been to tend to be more like tuq said, and frequently involve people who aren't even necessarily going to the wedding.

Yeah, if you really don't want to go, don't. If you don't think the plan sounds like fun, or you aren't really friends with any of the other guys don't worry about it.

Who doesn't want to go to a bachelor party. My friends and I also invite people who don't even know the bachelor. The more people the better.

Agreed on whoever said upthread about a lot of guys going on BPs who aren't going to the wedding. Also, agreed on this comment above about randoms sometimes attending to make things more fun.

However, disagreed on the statement "Who doesn't want to go to a bachelor party.[question mark]" Some of them suck, are the same tired played out trips to titty bars where the guy gets on stage and all the dancers "embarrass" him and basically waste all the patrons' time instead of giving dances like they should.

That sucks IMO, but what sucks even more are the stupid home stripper shows where two skanks show up with a bouncer or two, a boombox from the 80s with the antenna broken off, charge you hundreds of dollars up front, and then extort at least that much out of you for "extras". Ugh what a fkn waste of money those things are.

Maybe I'm just a bachelor party nit, dunno. And I'm not a hard drug guy at all to be honest, but if I'm ever dumb enough to get married there will be cocaine and midgets at my BP and it will be awesome.
