Yah, with sets, combo draws, 2pairs, pair of 9's plus draw, and pure bluff.

Like petey said, reraise flop and raise turn now that you're there.

On the flop even against 998s6s you're a 2-1 dog. Against 7654 you're a nice fav and even 6543 w/spades you're about even money

So shove flop. He could be trying to make a move assuming you're just c/betting the flop, I'd say something like 7654 is a likely holding and you're a favourite EV wise in that situation.

As played that 8 is an good card. Shove the turn

in my experience definitely on FT. Also you might get 44 or 33 to fold. Stars is more passive and an unknown has 99 more often here.

Also if you do think he has a set more than whatever % of the time you need to fold the river (a lot), play it like you did is fine, you have too many outs to fold even the turn.

You're playing three-handed. Of course people are repotting without sets. I'm more aggressive then most, but if I'm villian, I'm repotting with any two pair, 765x, any FD + OESD, and any small wrap with a pair. You said villian was aggro, so even if he's not quite as aggro as me, I'm guessing you're way ahead of his range. You definitely want to reraise this on the flop.

Once you get to the turn though, you might as well just call. Villian's got over half of his stack in, so there's no way he's folding anything now and you can still get away if you blank the river.

I raise the turn because I think I'm still ahead of his range. FE is bonus.

Edit: or let me put it this way: I don't want to call this turn and fold the river.

Not awful.

Did he ck/r the flop? I would assume he has top set.

You have 9 nut flush outs, 3 nut str8 outs and 3 non nut str8 outs plus two top set out with the As.

Call and hope he bets the river when you have made your hand.

yeah - so thats what happened i spiked my gutter to the nuts and he pushed river and his 333 was no good. i think i would've been able to fold a brick river, so i think turn push may not be best - still not sure on the flop, but i trust the experts.
