Will this place be 'the only game in town' or is there a traditional poker alternative? My point: They may be successful if there's no competition. Otherwise I've yet to come across more than a handful of players who would prefer the e-tables.

It's the only game in town. They can market it however they want, but I agree w/ Andy. Most people would rather play at a normal table.

It's only 10 minutes from Blue Chip and 30 minutes from Majestic Star and Resorts

A local card room I frequent is completely automated with these tables and I have to say its not bad. You see more hands and no dealer mistakes. The only complaint I have with them is that you have to use something hard to have the screen register a touch, but you get used to it.

Yeah, but they're not fully automated. They still need Lee Jones to operate the doomswitch.

Serious question: how do they protect these games against collusion/cheating, when there's nobody there to observe the players' conduct during the hands?

A good question, and one I'm waiting to see what the answer is, as well. What happens with a live dealer? In reality, not in perfect fantasy poker world.

However, whether playing live or on these e-tables, I think it's in a players best interest to watch out for these things himself. I'm sure not counting on the dealer to do it. Especially if it's regulars that he sees every day.

Im really not a fan of these tables. I have played some 1/2 and a few sessions of 2/5 with a bunch of blue chip and trump[ regulars and the consensus I got was that they would like to at least have the option to play on live dealer tables. i am hoping they go down hill and return ti dealers, i would also like to see the Mtt structures straightened out. that being said for "fun" poker there not bad.
