[ QUOTE ]
Republican = not conservative
Rush limbaugh = not conservative
Pat Robertson = not conservative
George Bush = not conservative
Shawn Hannitty = sure as hell not conservative

[/ QUOTE ]

(hijack warning)

You "real" conservatives can whine all you want about how republicans aren't real conservatives, but it doesn't matter. Modern democrats don't hold to a lot of the tenets of classical liberalism either. "liberal" and "conservative" are attached to "democrat" and "republican" in American English and it's just something we're both going to have to live with.

Well, of course they are, we rightists mind our own affairs and want government out of our lives--with the exception of Big Government disasters like GWB.

I have seen other harsh criticisms of this bill, and others like it, from the right.

In blind pursuit of courting religious "conservatives" the Republicans have lost touch with a substantial portion of their traditional supportors. Those who thought Republicans would spend less, promote a smaller federal government, and not pass laws that infringe on individual liberty.

Oops.
