A Hard line Conservative at another forum i post at said this, and i wanted to see if any people on here agree with this...

"I see it as spending a little to get out a message that might save a lot. You know, like "Don't smoke" or "Just say no to drugs." By reducing the number of smokers, you reduce medical costs. By reducing the demand for illegal drugs, you reduce crime. By reducing the number of single parent households, you reduce poverty, welfare costs, juvenile delinquency, etc. It makes perfect sense to me." - Tarantulas on The Abstinence Program

Just more evidence that Republicans and Democrats use the same method for absolutely everything that might be a problem: Democrats declare that everyone is a victim and deny any individual responsibility and act to subsidize the behavior to no end, while Republicans declare a pre-emptive war against whatever it is that people do and threaten them with mericless punishment, for their own good.

The anti-smoking campaign and the war on drugs. This new program sure has some high standards to live up to.

In that case, forgive my reservations about the war on drugs, money (and lives) well spent!

While the rate of drug use is down, the War on Drugs had nothing to do with it. Hell, it caused the rate to skyrocket in the first place. People have just finally gotten the "oooh, it's illegal, I've gotta see what this is about" out of their system. Well, some of them anyway.

That is because of technology I used to have to smoke 2 joints to get high but with the new hydroponics technology I only have to smoke 1..... Drug usage cut by 50%

The fact that you used to be able to buy a carton of cigs for a buck and now it's 50 bucks might have something to do with that.

Not your stupid bumper stickers that say DON'T SMOKE
Not your stupid commercials with a dude wearing a butt costume.
Not your stupid 60 min or dateline specials
Not your stupid GOP nonsense
Not your Democrat Nonsense

Who smokes more rich people or poor people.
Better yet what are there more of rich people or poor people.

So since more poor people smoke
And with gas and cig prices these days they can't afford it anymore.

Thanks to your GOP I would guess that poor people can't afford 10 gallons of gas a week let alone 10 packs of cigs.

So THANK YOU GOP I'm going to live to be 83 instead of 80 an extra 3 years of crapping into a bag and peeing into a straw THANK YOU SO MUCH.

You wanna reduce the worlds population
Abstinince will not work but these ideas might

Legalize DUI
Legalize every major hard core drug
Legalize all forms of gambling (suicide rates should skyrocket)
Legalize Suicide

The GOP is ruining the planet earth by saving all us dummies. How can we evolve into a better species when all the weak and dumb are allowed to live ?

Let me smoke drink and gamble that's all I want and in return I won't have kids

Feeling good is for the birds. I'm glad that I don't bang two girls and smoke two joints a day.

Why are conservatives anti fun?
