Re: 1/2 river decision...line discussion please
I might check turn and pray button checks behind. After multiple flop callers I'm no longer thinking value town, I'm thinking how can I get into a spot where their river bets are bluffs which I can snap off in a (comparatively) small pot.

Re: 1/2 river decision...line discussion please
any other advice? I thought the turn was a good card for me plus i really didnt want to give a free card on the turn to whomever might be drawing.

Why not block the river for $110?

Re: 1/2 river decision...line discussion please
I play it the same way up to the river. River is a tough spot. I can't think of all that many hands that a 22/17 plays this way. I don't think a call would be that bad, but I don't mind a fold either.

Re: 1/2 river decision...line discussion please
His hand looks alot like a drawing hand, given thhat he is very passive with it on two streets. I'd think he would raise his stronger hands on the flop or turn. Problem is, there are not that many drawing hands out there.
Other hands that seem very possible are a mmekly played JJ or AT. I think blocking the river is best. He can only really raise you with a hand that beats you. |

Isura, don't you think you're making some pretty big assumptions about an unknown player?
Not that I disagree with your article, I'm just not sure if it's relevant here. |

Re: 1/2 river decision...line discussion please
I don't check the turn here if it's not HU.
I don't check the river here unless I think it will induce a bluff, and then I call. Otherwise I'll either block or VB the river. In this case, probably block ~130. |

[/ QUOTE ] The thing is that there are no draws except QJ, and that is unlikely considering he didn't raise the flop and he called a big turn bet. |
