NL 25: What\'s up with all these min 3-bets pf and minraises?
Seriously, what's up with this? Preflop, it seems to mean anything. Some people will do it with K/10, and some will do it with AA (seemingly because they've been taught to 3-bet aces preflop).
On the flop, I get minraised very often. Sometimes this just means "Hey, I am testing you!" But other times, it is a real sign of strength... Do these people just not know how to bet? For example (I have a very agressive table image, so I feel like the person here was trying to tell me "i'm sick of your cont bets, I am going to raise to indicate strength but minraise because i don't actually have anything") PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) MP ($48.65) Button ($29.10) SB ($2.90) BB ($14.15) Hero ($34.10) Preflop: Hero is UTG with T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Hero raises to $1, 3 folds, BB calls $0.75. Re: NL 25: What\'s up with all these min 3-bets pf and minraises?
With these stack sizes, the 3-bet AI is appropriate. Deeper, I'd peel one off to re-evaluate but this is a good spot.
Unless there's some super read we're missing, this is standard. Nh. |

[ QUOTE ]
flopshove is too aggressive. i'd raise to sth like 12$ and fold to a push prolly. [/ QUOTE ] so youd fold for 1.15 more op you played it fine, you'll see 8x enough for this to be good |

I'd like to see here some discussion about what this means in general, though.

Re: NL 25: What\'s up with all these min 3-bets pf and minraises?
Well you can see why and how in this hand, I know alot of 2+2ers love 3betting AK/QQ/JJ , I am not one of them alot of players withn QQ will call a PF raiser and felt a non A or K board....but you knew that.
Maybe the "new" Trend of Min bets , 3bets PF is the NEW, "raise any PP from any position" |

There is no standard answer. They mean different things to different players. It's annoying but not hard to profit from.
