Re: Uncomfortable staring players down.
Boy, do I ever agree with the Cheeze Ball statement!
Amen! I will never forget seeing a young guy at the Sahara that was wearing reflective shades and rolling a chip across his knuckles at a $1/$2 no-limit table. He looked so proud of himself... |

Re: Uncomfortable staring players down.
Just do what I do: whenever some jerk tries to bait you into a staring contest, just jump out of your chair, start yelling "boom shaka-laka-laka unh UNH!", and do some kind of dance that includes booty-shaking and/or pelvic thrusts.
The nice thing is you only have to do this once or twice, after that no one will attempt to make eye contact with you for the rest of your poker career. jafager |

Re: Uncomfortable staring players down.
I have only worn sunglasses at a table once or twice and even then its was amongst friends. It may be cheesy but it does help. I like how Ivey is at the table. Notice how his eyes are going all over the place like a crackhead? He is actully using his periphial vision to absorb everything. This is what I like to do when I sit at a table where I dont know anyone. Sunglasses actually help because it doesnt allow other players to see your eyes darting all over the place and looking at every little thing. Like raymer said, Its not a huge edge but any edge at all is still an edge.
