Re: Just changed my major...
[ QUOTE ]
I still am not really sure, I am really interested in business in general...but I don't (didn't) like accounting really...so I have no clue what I like business wise?? [/ QUOTE ] If you want to be in business, here is a guide in helpful poker terms NITS - Accounting, possibly finance. Nobody disputes that these are winning occupations, but boring as hell to most people. accounting in particular is perhaps the most nitty job in all of the nit world. FISH - Management, anything related to management, or conceptually like management. In my experience, the rest of the business majors will make fun of management majors behind their backs when they complain about how difficult management classes are. It's a lot of second-rate pyschology to me, having delved into the psych world, and a bnuch of BS in general. I don't really like the 'field' of management, and my mandatory class in management was taught by the dumbest teacher i've ever had in college. TAG - Real Estate. Pretty good way to win. They don't make any more of it. Super-LAG - Economics. Econ is very much different from most business classes, as the actual math is not always very hard but sometimes the concepts are killer. Econ professors are wierd, strange people, and are generally way more chill and stuff. I'm an econ major btw, so i'm sure that I'm biased, but econ is soooooooooooooooooooooo much better for me. No hate for the accounting nits, but if i had to take anymore accounting classes I'd kill myself. |

OP, I have changed my major approximately 5 times. Two of which required me to transfer to a different "school" within the college. Theatre -> [transfer "schools"] Psychology -> Economics -> Math -> [transfer "schools" again] Secondary Teaching in Math or Econ (never decided on that) -> Current major which is like a business/consulting thing (School specific, so the name doesn't matter) and math How many of my theatre courses do you think carried over? One major change? Pfft. Busch league, man. [/ QUOTE ] how long have you been in college? |
