A5s hits combo draw vs. 37/3/1.7 - get it all in ?
villain is 37/3/1.7. I`m 16/11/4. Is this a good spot to get it in vs this type of player ? against a thinking player this is Standart IMO.

Your 3bet is ugly. Make it 17 or just call. Chances are he is not folding an over ever so just call.

[/ QUOTE ] Sb could be c/r as little as TP there, and villain may fold if the diamond comes, so the overpush isn't heinous, just variancey imo. That said I think with a hand as powerful as yours you don't hurt much any way. I would personally 3b a more sensible amount like $18-20 and call an overpush. You have position so putting the last raise in on this may get you a check on a blank turn. |

You haven't included 55, A8 will probably not call an all-in. I also think you should include some more overpairs, since he's passive preflop and may just call, as a slowplay or because that's what he does, TT-AA preflop. Also, why is Td9d included, but not any other suited connectors? It just doesn't make sense. Dumle |

And as for the hand. This overbet all-in is probably not a good idea. I don't think you have enough equity or FE to make. Had the pot been bigger and it would have been closer to pot-size I would have liked it. I do like a reraise, though. Partly because you have some FE and partly because you can probably get a free card on turn if he calls.

Re: A5s hits combo draw vs. 37/3/1.7 - get it all in ?
The biggest thing about combo draws...is Fold Equity.
I don't want to take a bunch of +3% equity flips for my stack. I play them aggressively still but i don't try to stack off against weak/station type opponents. Generally implied odds here are pretty big against these types so i may just elect to call most bets being as i'm currently about even money and can probably get a free card on the turn. Dumle beat me to it... |

Re: A5s hits combo draw vs. 37/3/1.7 - get it all in ?
If I raise to 15$ or so, I`m pretty sure he will call, so I thought I push not to loose lot of FE if my hand doesn`t improve. I hate going to showdown unimproved and getting beat by K8. Not sure tho, I don`t want to be result oriented here.
Oops, just noted that I posted turn and river card. Sry |

Re: A5s hits combo draw vs. 37/3/1.7 - get it all in ?
So don't put in another raise.
He's passive...call and take a turn card. You'll still have a ton of equity in the hand even if he bets say $8 into the $11 pot. If he's a big enough calling station the implied odds will still get you paid off. I'd rather just not risk my stack vs someone who's passive when i have a chance to make the nuts AND still get paid off. |

Re: A5s hits combo draw vs. 37/3/1.7 - get it all in ?
I love the reraise, but you get -- in my opinion -- another couple FE percentage points out of reraising a good amount instead of pushing. Pushing makes it appear as if you want a fold, which you do, rather than simply a good hand. would you push a set? If you would, go ahead and push. If not, rr to like 20, making it clear it's for stacks.
It's not a lot, but it's worth it for the times villain wants to make a hero call with 99 or whatever -- don't give him the info that will let him do that. |
