Re: Internet Legislation Prayer Reminder
Money is energy. Online poker makes this energy move more freely and in such a way that it goes from the incompetents to the competents.

Money is energy. Online poker makes this energy move more freely and in such a way that it goes from the incompetents to the competents. [/ QUOTE ] That's like saying, "Electricity is energy. Power plants make electricity move more freely, such that it goes from the producers to the consumers." Or something... it boggles my mind how meaningless what you said is and I hope that you're being facetious. So, online poker makes money do what money naturally should do anyway? |

True. And with somewhat above average velocity at the individual level.

Re: Internet Legislation Prayer Reminder
And the average velocity of an individual would be generally?
Fundamentalists creep me out. But I'm not denying the power of prayer for inducing improbable effects in the individual body. Sufis, Buddhists, etc. do the same thing, They just don't print reams of repetitive material (I'm not talking about the Bible here, however) Praying to save online poker? The beast's bleeding, It's far from dead. For the rest of the Frist-free world anyway. I play mostly live and treat the online game as schoolin', so if the "fish" get a little tougher, I don't see how this doesn't improve my overall game. And judging from the recent WCOOP results and the dispersion of where the players came from... America really never had a Olympic-basketball strangehold on the game anyway. So, good luck though. I'd like to see the legislation fall flat. But through prayer? Hmm. |

[/ QUOTE ] No. The majority of full time online poker players are losers who can't cut it at life. They're neither competent nor intelligent, but by learning general strategies from smarter people, buying tools to help them make decisions, and wasting ridiculous amounts of time and energy on learning rote rules, they are able to profit off people who haven't done these things. The OP is a brilliant example of my point. |

Yes. It sure would be the sign of a loser to study the strategies of experts on the game to learn to beat it and make a profit.
You make a good point. Phil - were you always so negative? |

Anyway, I was just responding to the OP's ridiculous assertions. When asked to demonstrate how online poker is a force for good, he said: [ QUOTE ] Money is energy. Online poker makes this energy move more freely and in such a way that it goes from the incompetents to the competents. [/ QUOTE ] The same can be said about pickpocketing, scams, monopolies and increasing rake and extortion. It's a silly argument on par with the the original post. [ QUOTE ] Phil - were you always so negative? [/ QUOTE ] Shooting down utter crap isn't negativity. |

Re: Internet Legislation Prayer Reminder
Tonight on PPV:
In this corner: 2+2ers, praying for poker to be legal. In the opposite corner: right-wing religious fanatics, praying for poker to be made illegal. TO WHOM WILL THE ALMIGHTY SHOW HIS FAVOR??? |
