Default tptk two buyins deep in blinds battle (with history)

villain's running at about 22/15.5/4. could be an ssnler. seems like a mediocre tag to me. my image at this table is active -- 24/20/3 or so and i've been picking up lots of pots. we played the following hand earlier in the session:

Full Tilt Poker, $1/$2 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LegoPoker Hand History Converter

BTN: $197
Hero (SB): $422.65
BB: $639.40
UTG: $200
MP: $203.20
CO: $842.10

Pre-Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (SB)
4 folds, Hero raises to $8, BB calls $6

Flop: ($16) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero bets $12, BB raises to $30, Hero calls $18

Turn: ($76) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero checks, BB bets $22, Hero calls $22

River: ($120) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero checks, BB bets $30, Hero calls $30

Results: $180 Pot ($3 Rake)
Hero mucked A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (a pair of Eights) and LOST (-$90 NET)
BB showed T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (two pair, Jacks and Tens) and WON $177 (+$87 NET)

after the hand, i said to him, "nh ape." he replied, "=)." that's about it as far as history.

what do you think of my play on the first three streets? do you call the river bet? if not, what's the worst hand with which you would call?

I'd 4 bet small pre, probably. I don't think this is awful though.

As played I think you have to call river. I would definitely either lead or c/r the turn though. The board is kinda drawy once the 6s comes out. Flop play is fine.

I hate this spot pre alot. 4-betting can get you in alot of trouble I think, so I think just calling the 3-bet is fine. Flop and turn are played well.

On the river I'd call. I expect him to bet less with a hand that beats AK.

as for postflop. I feel like you are playing your hand for min value by just c/c. He's gonna play pot control a lot of the time on the turn or river, so you need to either put money in the pot to force him into a crying call or you need to fold

On the one hand I want to call the river as we have shown a relatively weak line throughout by c/c'ing.
But then villain has fired all 3 barrels at us. Is villain giving up on the turn with a QQ type hand? (probably?) I think we are beat here, but im struggling to put villain on a hand, maybe a set/2pair.
Either way, I think we have to fold the river there. Urgh.

a couple of thoughts:

1. if i cr the turn, what's he supposed to continue with? KQ? my image is active but not insane.

2. on the river, i thought my hand was somewhat defined. whether the villain knows what i have is up for debate, obviously (i provided my full read). i don't see him value betting worse on the river. i think he either has me beat or he thinks he can move me off my hand. who knows whether he thinks i'll pitch AK here, though.

I think on the river its kind of a levelling game. In hand 1 he choose a small betsize with a hand that was very, very likely to be best (he was IP there too, so it was no blocker).

I think your hand is somewhat defined as AA (reasonable play this deep) or AK and maybe he puts you on KQ. I think he is trying to move you off it.
