Re: What does BBV do for a living?
[ QUOTE ]
I'm curious. Please post: 1 - What you do and how long have you done it. 2 - If you like it 3 - If you plan to continue doing it 4 - If not, then what? [/ QUOTE ] 1 - Im a economist and have been working in a Norwegian financial paper as a journalist for seven years. The last five, I have been covering the oil industry. 2 - I have enjoyed it 3 - Actually no, as I quit my job in late august and have my last day tuesday 21th of November. 4 - Im starting as editor in two professional real estate magazines the first of December. The combination of my new job and the fact that I have lost $18k in September and October have made me rethink my poker career. I still have 5k in my poker accounts, but I have a strong feeling that I will cash out the money and maybe quit poker (for a while...). I have started to believe that I am not built emotionally for poker, after losing in the period March to June and then September to October. After recieving $20k in rakeback I am up around 6k for the year, so It seems I am a big loser at 20/40 and 25/50. And I just dont feel like starting over again at lower stakes, so I guess I'm out of the business. GG poker, You treated me nice for a couple of years |

Re: What does BBV do for a living?
1. Hardware Design Engineer (chipsets). ~19 months.
2. Sometimes. The job itself is good, but I dislike where I moved to work here. And the white collar environment around here is soooo boring. You can't bust balls with Indians. They don't get it. And I'm all about busting balls. 3. At this job, not for too much longer. I'll probably peace out ~April '07. Maybe in early '08. 4. I'll always do something tech-ish, but maybe I'll change disciplines. Robotics would be interesting, but I have a lot to learn. Maybe get into a field where I can be outside more. I'm also interested in teaching at some point. |

Re: What does BBV do for a living?
[ QUOTE ]
I'm considering a career in the professional sandwich eating business; seems like there is some good money to be made there. [/ QUOTE ] OH [censored]! I forgot to send the $20! I'm on that [censored] in a matter of minutes. (How many 20's have you received? I wasn't a part of the original process and haven't even watched the video, but BBV needs to take care of their own.) |

Re: What does BBV do for a living?
1) Assistant editor at a magazine. 2 1/2 years of editing, divided between books and the magazine I currently work for.
2) Yes, I like it, except that the hours can be brutal, and the pay is notoriously low until you make it to the upper echelon of the industry. 3) I plan to continue doing it, hoping one day to be executive editor or editorial director for a mass market magazine or a fiction or current events book publisher. 4) Marketing, maybe advertising. Somewhere that I'll get paid for writing and being creative. |
