I don't think you're even paying attention. You're lines and what-ifs require someone to be comfortable playing OOP w/ a marginal hand. For a reader playing scared or uncertain, your lines are ineffective. I think my starting point is better for someone until they feel comfortable balancing all the information necessary to make better plays.

Completing the SB with this hand is totally standard. Raising and folding are both awful, raising slightly less so.

I bet out on the flop since you have top pair good kicker, and you likely have the best hand. Cutoff and button would have raised with KJ+; you're only likely behind JT or 44, and it's unlikely either of them has those. I bet again on the turn if called and the board texture doesn't change significantly.
