Why keep your wallet in your back pocket?

I put my wallet in the front for two reasons:
1) Like you said, it's uncomfortable to sit down.
2) I feel like it's easier to get pickpocketed from the side I can't see. Yeah, I'm paranoid.

I wear cargo pants, so I don't have to put anything in my back pockets.

noone does the carabeener on the pant's loop to hold their keys? u can buy a real small one (5" or so) for 99 cents at home depot. this is clutch, u jingle a little though, but it makes u clean up ur key ring of the [censored] u have on it.

I don't have a wallet, I just keep a pimproll in my front pocket.

I live in pick pocket central (China) and I keep mine in the back right 90% of the time but I also usually walk with my hand touching it at all times or like every second step I touch it. If my hands are full and I'm in a very crowded shopping centre or busy street I will put it front right. I think front right is uncomfortable with jeans. In Australia I always went back right pocket and never bothered to check it was there, now I think this habit has become entrenched it will take some time to break it.

Had my pocket picked a couple years ago...so now my wallet is always in front left. It's habit now. My cell and keys are in front right. I keep any lose receipts, paper, etc in back pockets.

I do this. And on my pants/shorts that don't have cargo pockets it clips ona belt loop and the keys rest in the pocket, so no jingling. Oddly enough on my cargoes the belt loops aren't over the pockets like my other pants/shorts, so either my wallet, or keys go in a cargo pocket. The only other thing I carry is a cellphone, and that goes in the open front pocket (usually left)

It's too annoying to sit or walk with a wallet in the front pocket. It rests right where my leg bends causing great discomfort when doing anything other than standing stil.

when i do not have suit or sport jacket then right front, otherwise in my left inside jacket pocket but most of the time my wallet is in my briefcase.
