Re: If it wasn\'t for poker...
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Not to rain on anyone's parade, but I wonder if there's a modicum of truth to the following: "Poker takes a toll on the worst poker players because they lose money, poker takes a toll on average poker players because they don't make money and they will never be a great poker players, but poker takes the greatest toll on the greatest poker players, because they could be doing something greater." [/ QUOTE ] This can be said for a lot of people in a lot of professions... like strippers. The best ones could probably be my trophy wife. What a waste. [/ QUOTE ] |

You're right, of course. I guess numerous posts about plasma TVs can be soul-destroying.

Re: If it wasn\'t for poker...
Mrs. A-Plus would have a much smaller rock on her hand, and I can't even imagine the stress of trying to pay for a wedding and support her through nursing school on my 'normal' salary. Of course, I would be watching a smaller tv right now, and typing on a much crappier laptop, and various other fun toys that I otherwise wouldnt love blowing money on so much.

Re: If it wasn\'t for poker...
I'd have about the same money as now
I'd have much more time to spend with my wife and newborn baby I'd have much more time to spend working on my degree, which I'm pursuing part-time while working full-time I would probably have my basement renovated by now, since I waste so much time playing poker |

Re: If it wasn\'t for poker...
I'd still be working a job that had me gone from the house for an average of 14 hours a day, which would mean I wouldn't see my son at all (wakes up after I used to leave and goes to bed before I used to get home).
