Default How many Harvards?

When I attended Washington University in St. Louis many years ago, I recall people referring to it as the "Harvard of the midwest." (In what then passed as clever, there were also t-shirts saying that Harvard was the "Wash U of the East.") And today in some thread I've already forgotten, I noticed someone's alma mater was called the "Harvard of the South."

How many other Harvards are purportedly out there?

Not only are there many Harvards, but I have seen several people posting here talking about how they attend a "near-ivy" or "baby-ivy" etc college. What nonsense. Why do these people buy into the marketing crap that they need to measure up somehow to schools in the ivy league. All it does is make the person think, "oh, okay, so it is NOT an ivy league school. i get it."

People, just say the name of your school and get on with it!

I've heard people that go to Truman State in god knows where, Missouri also refer to their school as the Harvard of the Midwest.

I went to the University of Nebraska- Omaha, also known as the Harvard of Omaha.
