L.A. Happy Hour - confirmation and SWEET UPDATE!!!

So I swung by the bar last night. The only reason to get tables is if we're ordering food. Plus, then we have to deal with separate checks, etc. On top of that, I'm guessing we're going to have 20 people or so. So, we'll at least just start in the bar area, if we need to get a table/tables we'll figure it out once we're there.

Someone get andyfox to come, that would be awesome.

I can't stand to stand for an excessive amount of time. If there aren't tables are there no chairs? I'm confused by the setup. Also, is this a bar or a nightclub? I'm trying to figure out how I'm supposed to be witty and apply neg hits if loud club music MCHA MCHA MCHA is drowning out my game.

Not a nightclub, a bar/restaurant. I'm sure we can find you a place to sit, but it's possible your skirt will drag on the ground and get dirty.

Also, I e-mailed the 2+2 shirt distributor last Saturday about buying in bulk and they never responded (?). I was hoping to have sweet "sup bro?" shirts in a variety of sizes. Although I suspect that aside from suzzler's female friend we're all a bunch of fat ass XL and XXL wearers.

By the way LFS, I decided to stay at

Days Inn Hollywood

I went through all of your suggestions, then noticed Mat staying at the Days Inn that almost has to be the same as this one. It looks to be ~1-2 miles from the bar, and when I look at it on Google Maps it looked like it may not be too terrible and I got the crappiest room accommodations for only $125 after tax, which puts me in the sketchy zone per your comments.

The tiebreaker is that if it's the same one as Mat and it's sketchy, well strength in numbers. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] Thanks for the help.

I was just sent this tip from a hiring manager I work with. Thoughts?

"I’ve taken the drive back and forth to LA for the last month so I know it well. It really doesn’t cool down at all during the day and make sure you hit LA before 4 pm or you’ll get bogged down in the traffic. Also take the 60 at Beaumont and it’ll cut 15 miles, be less congested and dropped you out on the 10 in downtown LA. Enjoy!"

Yeah, not gonna be able to do the 4PM thing. I'd be thrilled if I was even to Palm Springs that early.

Hollywood and Western won't be THAT bad. It's between the bar and where I live and I'll be cabbing it, so let me know if you get in early and we can ride together if you want. You'll be walking distance (daytime) from a Hawaiian barbeque place that amuses me and is somewhat tasty.

The 60 CAN be better than the 10 and gets you to the same place, but it won't always be. If you text me when you're getting close I'll check the traffic for you. Jesus, could I be more helpful? Someone get me a medal.
