Party did the right thing. They stopped it before it could happen.

Now as a good reporter you can write that they don't make it easy to use bots, as they should.

Investigative journalists who have broken laws have paid the price. An investigative journalist who breaks the terms and conditions of a company's service (or who publicly states he intends to break them) will have little recourse when the company makes that service unavailable to him. PartyPoker is publicly traded; they have an obligation to share holders - not to some journalism students notion of an interesting experiment.

Well said.

Indeed. IF I had broken any laws, OR stated that I intended to break that company's laws, that is...

can't you guys read before you post?

You wrote that you DID intend to break the company's laws (policies). Using an bot to play on their site is a violation of their rules. Read their policies that you agreed to when you signed up. You don't sound like a real journalist to me. You sound like a 21 year old university student who's trying to write a term paper.

So you're not denying that you would have used the bot? As much as I hate party, this is pure pwnage on their part. Good for them.

I wish you had just done the experiment first, and then posted about it. I am hoping that you still carry on the experiment on other sites, and find some way to do it on Party. Sorry it worked out the way it did, but part of the "experiment" is testing their security. You tested it without even knowing it. In that regard, they did their job well. Likely, some other poster on that forum informed on you

I too am rather dissappointed in the responses in this thread. Kind of embarrassing for this forum. Especially all this children who merely quote "I'm glad they banned you." I'm glad they banned him too, but only because protecting our workplace from those who use bots, or intend to is of great concern to me. I applaud this fledgling reporters efforts.
