Re: Ever tell your father that you love him?
no, i feel bad about that sometimes. it just isn't an easy thing for me to do for whatever reason. we all know we all love each other but don't really vocalize it. i know they all love me without hearing it, i don't question it. and i appreciate my family very much. i wonder sometimes how sad that would be if someone in my family died before i was able to say it though.
however i apparently try to make up for my inability to tell anyone else i love them, by telling my boyfriend every 2 minutes. |

yes, i tell him all the time. but i'm Italian, we tell everyone we know that we love them. [/ QUOTE ] My dad is on the other end of the spectrum, he is a [censored] slab of granite when it comes to this stuff, so am I. No emmotion, ever. Ive seen him blow his knee out, literally snap in half, while moving an engine block, and him on the ground calmly saying...call 911. It rubbed off on me I guess, I cut my finger off, and basically didnt do anything but tell my friend, fairly calmly to call 911. Altho0ugh at funerals/weddings, we do teh standard hug, with cousins etc. |

Re: Ever tell your father that you love him?
Yea, every now and then. He tells me more than I tell him. For the longest time he and I didn't really get along, but as I got older (an more like him), we get along much better.

Re: Ever tell your father that you love him?
I don't call my parents enough, but every time we talk it closes with I love you. I usually say it first, FWIW. They've always been there to support me in everything I've done. Just seems natural that I should share my gratitude by expressing that I care with three little words. Don't understand why it's so hard for some people.

Re: Ever tell your father that you love him?
Never done any of those 'DAD... I LOVE YOU MAN!' kinda things... closest I ever get is on AIM when he says 'take care, i love you', and then i just reply 'ok i love you too, bye'... never said it in person, though, at least not that I can remember.
