[ QUOTE ]
Open the fridge, then hit the lights. Bats are attracted to light. It'll fly in the fridge, then you shut the door. End of story. [/ QUOTE ] What's up with that whole "blind as a bat" thing then? Bats are "attracted to light" b/c flying insects, which the bats chow down on, are attracted to the light first. OP, teh google is your friend: what to do about bats flying around in your house |

Re: We can\'t stop here....this is bat country!
Start charging rent and you and your roommates can move on with your lives while enjoying a little more spending cash. This might offset the emotional distress of getting divebombed. However, if that bat is even the most decent of roommates he will stop divebombing you. If he doesn't, just kick him out for being an awful roommate.

OP, teh google is your friend: what to do about bats flying around in your house [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, thanks! Here's a fantastic selection from the website: [ QUOTE ] There are proven ways to safely remove a colony from your house. Timing is crucial to enact a safe bat exclusion. Never do an exclusion during June, July, or August, when the colony is likely to consist of many young that can not fly. There are seasons to do an exclusion; in the spring after insects have appeared or in the fall after the babies have learned to fly. The first step to a successful exclusion is to enlist the help of several friends to help you search the outside of your house for exiting bats. Start watching at sunset, and keep your eye on any small openings until one hour after sunset. Remember that bats can fit through a hole the size of your thumb, and that they move fast. Repeat this process for several nights, until you are confident that you know where they are exiting the house from. [/ QUOTE ] So now I've got a budding bat colony in my house that I can't do anything about, because the damn bats can get in through a thumb-sized hole. looks like Jeffery and I will have to learn to co-exist...meaning after this weekend I will never go in the attic again. |
