unless your bet is offering him >4:1 he's not getting the odds to call w/ a naked flush draw (eh, well depending on implied odds, but i doubt he did or can count on steve paying him off heavily); and if he has some kind of combo draw that has showdown value he'd check behind on the river

A few months later and I still disagree. The main thing that I have a problem with is the assumption that Juanda's never bluffing us off the best hand if we bet. I don't see why he can't raise a flush draw here.

From I understand through this logic of leading the turn, if he raises, he won't raise with a worse hand so we can confidently fold. Is that correct?

Im still slightly puzzled about the river though. If he flat calls the turn bet, what is our plan if (a) a heart falls? (b) a non heart falls

Are we check folding any card as we cannot see him getting to the river with enough of his range that this is a bluff ie. when a non-heart falls, or that he is value raising a worse hand?

Yeah.. I assume the people who like a bet on the turn are c/fing river if called. Not sure how often they expect it to check through.

Depends how much we bet I guess, but I really think he'd call a reasonable turn bet with any 2 hearts intending to bet any river that we checked. After all we don't have the ace that often, and lots of people will check the turn anyways without 2-pair +. We're probably going to lead a blank river with a set too. So I think that line for him is reasonable.
