hand 1: I'd fold pf, maybe rr if villain likes to steal. As played, I'm definitely c/c that flop. If he keeps going on the turn, then I fold. If I was villain, I'd probably fold to the push though.

Hand 2: I don't know why you would check that flop, but as played, I don't know whether I'd fold or call. The line is just so strange, I might just call b/c I can't put you on a hand. In addition - I think knowing the fact that villain had AK changes things b/c he knows that it is less likely that mrs. edp has AA at this point.

ep,

some 2p2ers can fold an overpair, but no-one does it after raising the flop

Both lines are terrible. I see what you have done though, asked for solid advice on hand ranges needed to make +EV calls then used that info to tag Villans as CS fishes who wrongly called both your wifes semi bluff and pure bluff shoves.

DB,

This is true if the raise is a true raise and makes the Villain feel committed. In hand one, it was practically a min-raise, with a large amount left to call. If you think the average player will NEVER fold TT there, you're just wrong. But I get your point, and it's a fair one.

Yeah, this is basically what I was getting at in this thread. A flop raise by a TAG usually means they're willing to felt their hand, or complete air.

Heh. This is not what I've done at all. The first line is not, as I've argued, terrible. She should have simply mucked preflop. The second one is ugly, but not by any means the worst you'll see. I can be just as critical as anyone else of my wife's play -- I rip her for her mistakes all the time!

There is an interesting amount of hindsight involved; when I first posted it was a chorus -- with no dissent at all -- of "fold fold fold." Now it's a shift to criticizing the play that would have forced everyone who posted to fold a better hand.

Which hand was a pure bluff, btw? Cause neither were, but you seem to think at least one was.

And I think I've made the point clear: I'm more happy with my wife's willingness to play aggressively, cause it's a sign of her advancing out of a weak-tight shell. I posted the hands to get some feedback on the quality of the semi-bluff shoves, cause I was more enamored with the fact that she'd be willing to make those plays at all.

Jig,

A flop raise will often be a draw in position looking to induce a turn check, build a pot, fold out a better hand, etc. That's not uncommon at all, and it's not pure air. To reduce a TAG's flop raise to

1) a felt-able monster, or
2) air

is a mistake.
