Honda S2000, although it's a 2-seater, fits all your other requirements. One of the purest driver's cars out there. [/ QUOTE ] I like this car a lot to drive...but its teeniny. I looked at the Z a lot too (i had a 94 300z that i loved) but the interior was just so awful. Ended up with this 2005 G35 Couple, its great: ![]() [image] ![]() |

I've had some fast cars and some slow cars...
Nissan 240Z, Nissan 280Z, Nissan 300Z, Honda City Turbo II, 1995 Miata, 1999 Miata, Nissan Wagon, 2004 PT Cruiser Turbo, 1970 Olds Cutlass Supreme (Big V8), Toyota Celica, Plymouth Horizon, and more. I've driven M3s, Vipers, Vettes, and more. Right now I have a Lotus Elise sitting at the dealership waiting on the sale of my loft in downtown Austin. ...and I'll say this: You can't get a better value for your money in terms of 'fun per dollar' than a Miata. If you like to drive, drive one. On a track if you can. They are amazingly fun to drive AND you can have fun without breaking the law. To have the same amount of fun in more powerful cars you end up breaking the law. Take an exit ramp at 45 in a Miata and it's the same amount of fun as taking the exit ramp at 70 in an M3. If I were getting a new car and I didn't want to spend too much money I'd get a Miata. Since I'm stupid (and I get a $600/month car allowance) I'm getting a new Elise. If you do have a good month playing poker you might be able to pick up a used Elise in the mid 30s. The Elise is the most 'pure' sports car out there except for something like the Ariel Atom. If the Miata isn't fast enough for you they make both superchargers and turbos for them. If you just want a boatload of power then the Vette is pretty good. Go with a used Z06 and you can get yourself into one for 30K easy. |

[ QUOTE ] 95 miata [/ QUOTE ] We have a girl in the thread! [/ QUOTE ] We have an insecure male in this thread! I once had a coworker tell me my Miata was a 'chick car'. I took him for a lap around the company compound in my Miata. He never said it again. I've lapped a Lamborghini in my Miata at Laguna Seca. Granted the guy was on his second Lamborghini after flipping his first and was at the track to learn how to drive his car better, but I still did lap him. |

I have an '06 VW GTI, I'm thrilled with it. Can't touch an STI or EVO as far as speed goes, but is much better in many areas IMO.
Mazda is coming out with a Mazdaspeed 3, that will have somewhere in the neighborhood of 260 hp and 280 lb/ft torque for < 25k. Should be available in the fall. |
