First, you bought crap quality Top Soil. Earthgro (and Hyponex) is the cheap brand that was absorbed through the Scott's line, which is a public company, but controlled by the Miracle-Gro "family". Good top soil would have cost 3x (or more) that much. Your "top soil" is mostly compost and junk with about a 99.9% chance of having weed seeds. They should offer two for one deals with Round-up. You do have some organic matter, which helps, but watch for weeds.

Second, you would have been better off to just Round-up the entire planting area, let everything die, and then aeriate or till the hell out of it before applying any topsoil or grass seed. No reason to spend time digging up the weeds unless you're trying to scrape the ground of crappy soil at the same time. Since you came over the top with additional soil, there was no need to dig it up. Round-up breaks down within a few days and you can seed right over the top.

Good luck, watch for weeds, use better top soil next time.

please move into one of my rentals and be my tenants. did you pay for all of this out of pocket?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes. I realize I am increasing their property value for free, but whatever. This will probably be the last place my mom lives and I want her to have a nice lawn when I move out. I also want to enjoy a nice lawn while I'm living here.

The fence that is colored different is new. It was put in by the owners after the last one blew over in a huge wind storm.

just because these pictures are too [censored] funny.

I forgot to name that thread when some jackbitch in NT's thread mentioned I hadn't created any notable ones.

And wtf have you been dude? I missed you. :-)

I'm totally confused by this post. My impression of you is like 18 year old skate punk, and now you own a home (or is this the folk(s) home?) and do landscaping.

[/ QUOTE ]

A pile of [censored] has a THOUSAND eyes! Nah, I'm not a skater punk. I'm a pretty normal dude. You probably wouldn't be able to tell which music I listen to from my appearance (the sideways hat isn't a wigger giveaway you [censored]). I live in a rented duplex with my mother (pay rent, buy own food, etc) and decided to do the lawn cause I'm cool.

Meh. She's fine with this place and would have no use owning her own house. I mean I'd obviously buy her one if I was rich, but this will do. Bad decisions kept her out the game, now she's stricly out for cream, doin' things to fiends I doubt you've ever seen. Wait, not the last 2 parts.

Depends on the market and the terms. There's always money to be made.

As an old man, from your picture, I'd think you were a young punk. From what you've done for your mother's yard, and the way you post, I'd buy you a beer. Much love for 2+2 and the ability to tear down barriers.
