So you guys are saying Al Gore has not done good?

[/ QUOTE ]
He took the initiative in creating the Internet! That alone is worth a Nobel!!!

[/ QUOTE ]

Anyone who continues to make such statements should immediately lose all credibility. Kinda like someone who recommends Drop Dead Fred as a good flick.

He's done more than any other individual to make the reality of climate change an accepted fact in the minds of the common man, a well deserved award.

[/ QUOTE ]

What exactly does that have to do with the Nobel Peace Prize? (Assuming your statement is even correct, which IMO is not the case)

Al Gore does not get Nobel Peace Prize; Nobel Peace Prize gets Al Gore'd.

Jimmy Carter and Yasser Arafat... ya he's in good company.

I'm glad the noble peace prize has absolutely no politics involved whatsoever and is awarded purely on merit...

Environmentalism has been hijacked by left wing ideology as a weapon against capitalism.

There are few things that promote peace more than being a known opponent of Republicans AND Democrats.

Really? Do you know one person who he convinced that global warming was real that didn't believe it before? The whole thing just seemed like preaching to the choir to me, which isn't actually useful.

You do realize that "environmentalism" and "capitalism" are, in many ways, already opposed?

(I suppose this just makes me a left wing ideologist though...)

Agreed. Since Al Gore made that exact statement, he has lost all credibility. Actually, he lost all credibility with me long before that.

March 9, 1999; CNN interview
“During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet.” Al Gore.
TRUTH: The Internet is an outgrowth of a Pentagon program established in 1969.

Capitalism is the only way that the environment can be saved.
