Ray - The article you linked is from 2004. It specifically references "Wednesday, Aug 11."

A zillion news sources an articles said that the best of the meteors was Sunday night to Monday morn.
I'm sure there are still meteors to be seen tonight as this is something that is supposed to be going all month. But last night was supposed to be the best.
And they say it will pick up against on Sept 1 or something.

okay, but i was out last night,sunday and saw quite a few. but at my place it is quite dark and i can see most of the sky. saw a few that blazed across the sky and a bunch of just short flashes, about midnight. will go out again tonight for more but its real smokey today from the fires in idaho moving smoke into my valley. i expect to see nothing.
