I was actually villain here and I held 99. "hero" is upay4mycondoms or something along those lines. He actually held AK here, but thats not the point.

What do people think about my river flat call rather than push (as actually happened in teh real hand)?

you just flat called the river? if so it would appear that you outthought yourself into the mindset that he is making a fake block bet with a bigger set or the nut flush to induce a push no?

i would not flat call the river here with 999. im shoving all day. villian could easily talk himself into making a hero call w AK or AQ. if he has made a tricky play with AAA or a flush then hes gonna get all my money.

his river bet size is bad imo because even if he bet with the intention of folding, it would be very easy to talk himself into calling considering the size of the raise relative to the pot and the fact that his bet looked so weak and could be interpreted just like how it was by a good player and have therefore induced a bluff shove. i think i prefer a river c/f from his point of view unless you are a tricky player capable of bluffing here, in which case a c/c might be okay.

I am sure he have flush here.. Your flop bet is standart you could have KK-1010 to do this.. Now You check turn..hmm..villain can see it as weeknes and try to push you off with semibluffing FD.. or he got smthing like AKhh A2hh set or 2pair(i dont belive it) already (str8 with 45hh too!).. I fold turn. As played c/c river bcoz of Qh..

Anyways I dont see him bluffing or having worse hand..

Betting $100 on turn makes for an easier push on river. Would this thinking be too transparent to villain?

I would just call PF. I would just c/r the turn AI or check the river.

Unless I'm going mad your not getting 5-1.

sorry was doing a quick calc in my head. its actually 4.32:1 and yes with AQ i make this call.

i do hate a call with AK and dont see the value in a river bet. but with AQ if i bet the river i will call the 149$ shove

I'd check the flop a lot, but if I bet I'd bet a hell of a lot less. As played I think we're in meh-land on the river.

Given you're actually villan w 99 I think you played this hand well, but I'm curious what your plan was for the turn if he bet. A lot of people are going to fold on the turn if they get raised, and against those people I'd prefer to either raise the flop or the river.
