Re: Be a millionaire but take this low-paying job, please.
tending the cash register at any crappy store that doesn't get many customers. I worked third shift at a gas station for a few summers in college and other than the nagging worry of being robbed all I did was steal cigarettes and food and read books or write all night.

Re: Be a millionaire but take this low-paying job, please.
[ QUOTE ]
Also, Slim -- $10 million not enough? Greedy bastard. [/ QUOTE ] $10 million would not be enough for me, but it's not because of greed, no amount of money would be enough. Knowing that 20 years of your life's work, no matter how hard you try or how well you do, could never amount to any form of advancement would horribly demotivating and depressing, even if it was something you derive some pleasure from. |

Re: Be a millionaire but take this low-paying job, please.
[ QUOTE ]
To those that say bartender, I agree that it's a fun job, but it's hardly minimum wage. After college, I left my bar to work for a business consulting company and took a pay cut in doing so. Bartenders can make ridiculous money. [/ QUOTE ] Cappy, What about bartending at an all-inclusive resort in the tropics with a no tipping policy or anywhere in Canada? |

[ QUOTE ]
A) $10 million isn't enough and 20 years too long to make any answer conceivably acceptable. Make it $100 million and 10 years. [/ QUOTE ] most people won't even make a million dollars in their lifetimes, let alone 10 million. You will never make that much money either. This is a win win |

[/ QUOTE ] There was no limitation on moonlighting or doing something else that earns money or is satisfying. The only stipulation was that you had to work 40 hrs a week at a minimum wage job. |

I guess it's probably closer to something like what OP was looking for, but I'd still think bartenders at these places make about $12 per hour minimum. |

Re: Be a millionaire but take this low-paying job, please.
I think this is such a fun idea!
I would LOVE to be a flight attendant (stewardess, if you will). I would also LOVE to work at a small restaurant (like a bagel place, like Manhattan Bagel, where I used to work) but only if I didn't like the food (because otherwise I would eat it all). I LOVE jobs where you meet new people every day and it becomes a family style environment where you get to know regulars and that kind of stuff. |

Re: Be a millionaire but take this low-paying job, please.
I'd deliver the afternoon paper. Delivers Mon-Sat, work from 1-5. Should be easy enough to do. If I had the $10 million up front, I'd throw papers in my Hummer or Ferrari.
My friend's dad works part-time at a golf course pro shop. Gets free golf bucketing balls. Doesn't sound so bad. Baseball park usher sounds good too. ScottieK |

Re: Be a millionaire but take this low-paying job, please.
I wouldn't mind working in a ski/snowboard/skate shop for $6.50/hr.
I'm sure I'd keep doing my freelance design gig as well... |
