Re: Will WSEX last over a year?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] It's the other way around. Deposits are free. You only get one free withdrawal every 10 days, $15 per withdrawal after that. [/ QUOTE ] I meant that WSEX has to pay when you deposit. When you cashout it's free for them. [/ QUOTE ] Sorry, I was speaking from the player's perspective. |

Re: Will WSEX last over a year?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I don't see how WSEX can possibly lose any money by going this route. The personel they use are the same ones running the Sports book, so there are really no added costs. [/ QUOTE ] I am a WPEX player but this comme is obviously not true. I hope it lasts but it does cost them money to run the site. The people supporting the sports site do not work for free when they are taking poker calls. [/ QUOTE ] How much? Those people are getting paid regardless if the poker room is running or not. Is there somebody behind the scenes who knows how much it costs to maintain a small poker site? I bet it's pigeon [censored]. [/ QUOTE ] It takes time/resources to take care of the poker room even if its being done via sportsbook personnel. Both equal money. |

Re: Will WSEX last over a year?
The $1500 I dropped there on Blackjack a couple nights ago that I won from their pokerroom says Yes.

Re: Will WSEX last over a year?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] There is some contradiction in numbers. If WSEX poker will grow, their costs (support, processor fees, bandwidth, fraud) will increase. Just betting the amount of rake back on sports (as Microbob suggests) with 10% WSEX profit margin won't cover their costs, and that assumes most of tpoker players betting all their rake back, which they won't. So growing poker numbers without increasing percentage of poker players betting on sports or playing BJ may force WSEX to drop 100% RB sooner than later. [/ QUOTE ] Good point. Discouraging. [/ QUOTE ] they own the software. the only costs are sunk (web-space, transaction costs, etc) the sportsbook does GREAT, and the poker room is like giving the casino/sportsbook base a video game to play on. i do not see it being sooner. |

[/ QUOTE ] Of course there are added costs when more work has to be done (even if they use the same personel). There are also costs for development and maintenance of the poker software, marketing etc. [/ QUOTE ] How much does it cost to maintain software running on the internet? [/ QUOTE ] I obviously don't have a number for you but from the updates and numerous server restarts you can tell that they are both doing new implementation and bug fixing. I would guess that the same amount of people are working on the software now as before the software went live. To create a (good) client you need someone who knows networking, someone who knows UI, someone who knows security etc. This is usually not the same person. |

Re: Will WSEX last over a year?
I never bet sports and I've made a handful of bets because it might make a difference whne they evaluate the program.
I look at WPEX as a way to build my bankroll playing against competition (helping me get ready for higher limits) that is much more competent than I get on Party at the same level. Hopefully when this deal ends, I'll be ready to play at a level high enough that rake is no longer a major factor. |
