The problem is I don't know that there are really that many people who would make sense to go to a minor league. Telfair would be far and away the best player that it wouldn't be worth it. It's not like AAA, which is at least somewhat close to MLB quality.

i know steph and bassy had one little fight, but in general they are really close.

No, they won't get a "in his prime superstar", but they could get a really quality player with a couple of good years left. I'm not saying it was a good strategy, but I do agree that it is the only way to get something good out of trading away Roy. If they let Ratliff leave without trading him and hang on to all of these kids, then letting Roy becomes monumentally stupid as opposed to just plain dumb.

[/ QUOTE ]

ratliff sucks. there's no team in the league that wants him. perk > ratliff.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm guessing you haven't been following the conversation very closely. I never said anybody wanted Ratliff; they want his expiring contract. If you can move a guy with 3-4 years on his contract in a deal where you get Ratliff, you can take millions of dollars of your salary cap after the season. NBA teams trade for expiring contracts all the time; it's standard practice.
