The problem is I don't know that there are really that many people who would make sense to go to a minor league. Telfair would be far and away the best player that it wouldn't be worth it. It's not like AAA, which is at least somewhat close to MLB quality.

I never said anybody wanted Ratliff; they want his expiring contract. If you can move a guy with 3-4 years on his contract in a deal where you get Ratliff, you can take millions of dollars of your salary cap after the season. NBA teams trade for expiring contracts all the time; it's standard practice.
