[ QUOTE ] and I'm in MP and raise J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], [/ QUOTE ] Am I a nit or is anyone else limping or folding here? [/ QUOTE ] The idea behind this thread is so ridiculous I don't think anyone really cared about the play of the hand itself. |

Re: Should I have turned my hand face up?
The same thing applies to the turn.
When he raises (all in or otherwise), should he turn over his aces so you don't draw to your one outer on the river? Would you be happy if he did? Would you play better if he did? |

Re: Should I have turned my hand face up?
all, I want to thank Xhad for introducing me to this blasted thread.
However if villain is calling 6 on the flop & 1 on the turn, as I seem to gather, then he is getting 97:7 effective see two cards and hit is two outer: -$7(.9141) + $97(.0859) = +$1.93 We'd like villain to fold. Hero should reveal his cards if villain is so stupid. |

Re: Should I have turned my hand face up?
Buzz: lol, I think we may have just stumbled upon one of those "right play for the wrong reason" situations. I just stoved with "enumerate all" and it turns out that if after rake and everything there is $75 or more in the pot, Villain has odds to go all-in with AA knowing hero's hand. However, this assumes we know he has AA; he could also have an unpaired hand like AK and be an even bigger longshot (and such a hand will nearly always go all-in in this situation). But the real answer is that in practice you will rarely be in a situation where your opponent will play incorrectly after seeing your hand but play FTOP-perfect if you kept it concealed so this is a dumb play in practice. And of course OP's thought process was more like "waaah I had a losing night I should try to reduce variance at the expense of EV, is this +EV?" so I'm still going to keep hoping this thread dies.
