Re: I Posted Hands Once Upon a Time
I think leading this type of board would be pretty awful because you get raised off your hand very often and when you are raised here in a multiway pot I really don't think you can make the case for calling the raise being out of position and likely killed by the range that is raising you (likely sets and JT, with overpairs obviously thrown into you). Therefore I immediately discount any ideas of bet 3 betting all in as well. I think there is absolutely no FE if we are raised on a board like this unless we can get the original raiser to drop QQ-AA and that just doesn't happen in MTTs. Remember that you still have the other guy behind EP so if EP is raising you he's got a hand that he likes and will likely feel committed. You said he sounds generic, etc. so I don't think he will get out of line at all in multiway pots.
I think this is one of those spots where you don't have to get overly tricky. If you hit the gin card on the turn you'll still get action from two pair hands and sets (if you hit the K much more so than the 9, as the King is the only real "gin card"). I mean I really don't think we have a hand that is that strong at all. Sure we are double gutted but we only have 4 outs to a hand that will get us action. If we are up against a set and hit the nine on the turn we'll likely get action there from the set looking to boat up but the King is the only card that can get us action. Overplaying this hand would be bad. |

Re: I Posted Hands Once Upon a Time
ok, I pretty much completely agree with everybody who says c/c. Although its nice to see somebody else advocating a multi-street bluff, its a pleasant role reversal. Anyway, I check, raiser bets 800, caller folds, and I call. The turn bricks off, I check, does anybody do anything different? what is the smallest bet you would call (assuming your options at this point are call or fold)?
Pot is 2600. |

Re: I Posted Hands Once Upon a Time
As I told MLG emphatically yesterday, I also agree you can't lead this flop. You just don't get folds often enough and a raise is disastrous because you have little 3bet fold equity.

Re: I Posted Hands Once Upon a Time
I am done with the hand here unless it checked through and hit my straight or if this guy bets an amount under 1300 (half the pot size). I think anything further and its a pure spew call. As I said originally I still don't think we have much FE at all here unless we think we can force him off QQ-AA which isn't likely since on that board I think practically everyone would raise two pair/set since there are a decent amount of action killers that come off of the turn.

Re: I Posted Hands Once Upon a Time
check for pot control no need to bloat a pot out of position. you have AQ with alot of outs. lets see what villian does then evaluate.

Re: I Posted Hands Once Upon a Time
I would call 800 no more or let it go. I don't see villian ever having KQ here. so we have 8 outs that will win the pot. without a good read on villian I'm not chasing with a bigger bet than 800 its -ev
