We just sat outside for about 3 hours and I'd guess we seen 1 every 5 minutes or so. We argued about how far the stars are from earth and how many of them were burnt out already. Also about how old the earth is and god wrote the bible. haha

This goes on for awhile right? I am thinking about going further away from the city tomorrow to check it out better.

Can't really see anything here. It's just too cloudy tonight.

I watched for about an hour from my roof with a couple friends. I saw about a dozen before it got kinda hazy out and we gave up. It was definitely nice to lay back and star gaze, reminded me of how far I've drifted from nature of the last several years.

Thanks OP, I wouldn't have known without the heads up.

some confusion i think. its the perseid metoer shower that is happenning. today, monday after midnight till dawn will be the best day. look to the north and north east. and keep your side vision active. they go by quick. and you have to scan the sky and not fixate on a spot. they are the remnents of the swift tuttle comet. here is a link if it works that will explain the shower. i watch it every year. its not as big as a few years back but still magical. it helps to lay down in the grass and look up and not spend the time kissing your other.

O.K. I'm confused again. Like every news source and wikipedia is reporting that the peak was indeed last night sunday-monday http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perseids can we trust that the peak is gone?
