Does he normally open raise with 33? You said he is tight open raiser so I lean toward "no."

[/ QUOTE ]

Give a nit a little credit here.

From the hijack I'm opening just about all pairs.

[/ QUOTE ]

obv. But there's no way you're calling $10 here preflop wih 33.

Right.

Especially with only 75bb in my stack.

BF had 3-bet me the previous round (maybe it was at another table). So I know his 3-betting range is pretty good.

Having said that, I can tell you that my play here is either AK, AA, QQ and maybe a suited AQ.

Are you talking about before or after the flop c/r?

I put you on QQ+ and AK and absolutely nothing else, given you called that 3-bet.

You think he would call the 3bet with KK/AA? I guess if he thought he could slowplay it a bit given the wider 3bet range of his opponent. I'd really expect QQ, or possibly AK/AQ.

I don't have enough reads on pokerboy to know what he does with AA or KK here, it's very specific to a player, and how that player percieves the villain.

IF it were me, with AA/KK I might repop or I might just call, depends on the villain + lay of play.

[/ QUOTE ]

Absolutely. In fact, I would rather call with AA and KK in this spot than 4-bet, which gives my hand away. But I only do this when there is enough money going in the pot preflop to justify it to avoid giving good implied odds to the weaker hands. In other words, if I raise to $4 preflop and a donk mini-bumps it to $8 on the button, he'll certainly have a 4-bet coming at him.

I am not sure of what your guys' history is but it seems to me that if his range is decent pocket pairs and big Ace's that you are going to either get a c/r AI that you aren't sure what to do against or you are going to get a fold. If he would play this way, r/c then c/r the flop, with say JJ-88 then getting AI should be profitable. You seem to think, rightfully, that getting AI against PB isn't that great here so why bet the flop?

So what we take away from this hand is that, I read Pokerboys soul with my hand analysis of his play

So after what pokerboy said, this isn't a marginal situation at all (for those that thought it was)
