Default Re: Anyone want to talk low limit heads up stars SNGs?

I just started playing these on Full Tilt.

I like.

I'm now 5/9 at $5
and 7/7 at $10

rake?? - what rake. there's a 5% fee on FT but they don't rake pots - is this the same as on stars?

I've played 14 different opponents - only 1 seemed to have a clue - I think my HU play is shocking and I'm killing these games...

I don't think it's unreasonable for me to make $20 an hour playing these - thats loads more than I'd make playing $25/50NL even assuming I had a winrate of 10PTBB/100 - and I'm not even close to that ...

I'll come back when I've played a few 100 and see how the ROI looks then...

Okay so in 20k HU SNGs you have consistently crushed low limits and consistently been crushed at slightly higher limits? I'm still not getting this :/

On average throughout all limits, im probably 60%-65% winning %. However, because of my poor BR management, that 35%-40% chance of loss kills me. It's not hard to lose a decent amount in a row. Because I'm not a millionaire, whenever I lose, I start from the lower limits again and build my way up.

He plays 10 games of whatever buyin. He wins 8 of them. If he wins 8 low limit ones and loses 2 higher ones, he can end up breakeven at the end of the day.

Ok, but when i win my big HUs i can make cashouts of ~4k in one day, as opposed to playing $20s all my life.

It sounds like your problem is that you're simply not good enough to beat the higher stakes HU matches. If you want to build your bankroll, play a lever you can beat. Making -EV bets to increase your bankroll is counterproductive.

Play enough tables and anything is possible. 70% winrate at a 5% rake game is 33% ROI, right? So you'd need to play 7 $10s an hour, which could be done 3-4 tabling. Personally 4 tabling HU is a huge pain in the ass, but it could be done.

I think if properly bankrolled, I could beat the higher stakes HU. I'd probably make more from the $200 HU though. All I'm trying to say here is that no matter how good you are, without excellent BR management, you won't be able to show good profit in these.
