I've done that kind of thing as well - it's totally different if you're driving to see each other, as opposed to taking someone around town for work/errands/whatever.

I don't really think so. If it's something I had to do to make her happy I would do it. I'm mainly wondering if I can stick to the "ha ha no, take the bus, see you soon" and she'll just get over expecting it.

I really hate the fact that it's become something that I have to say no to. Like, if she never expected it, then I would just do it once in a while to surprise her and it would be a positive thing when I did it, but instead now it's like a negative thing when I don't do it.

Anyway I'm seeing from the responses I should do it without complaining for like the special cases (doctor, airport, lots to carry), but I think I can avoid doing it for every day travel.

First off, Guids is right and everyone else is wrong.

Second, key point no one has raised, "This usually makes her all pissy and whiny for the rest of the day." That is cause for termination. Unless she demands anal to put her back in sorts. Then, and only then, you may want to consider prolonging the inevitable.

Finally, every relationship, no matter how strong the claim for equality, is unequal. One person is dominant and one is submissive. At the end of the day, after all the little johnny romantic daydreams have turned into reality, you are either the layer of the pipe or the pipe.

I dont think everyone else is wrong, the guy who suggested road head in exchange for a ride had a valid point.

You have to explain this problem at a time when your not leaving her without a ride somewhere. It's not her fault if you're her bitch and she thinks she can get a ride anytime she wants. Just bring it up some other time.

I've been in a similar situation wherein an ex-girlfriend wanted me to drive her around a few times a week. At the beginning it didn't matter, but as the relationship wore on it became ridiculous.

Take a stand now, it will only irritate you more and more as time goes on... and she'll expect it and abuse it.

One thing that might make me more inclined to pick her up is how much time I am saving her vs. how much time of my own I am wasting. If a 10 minute ride saves her an hour of bus, then I'm more inclined to help her out, but as a favour. I would expect big dividends for my kindness.
