If you install Borodog as mod, I'll probably read Politics once in awhile.

I didn't think you could ignore mods

[/ QUOTE ]

you can if you ignore them before they were made a mod.

[/ QUOTE ]

Avoid the rush, avoid everyone NOW!

PS: even though I think the chances of RJ getting modded are low, I went ahead and put him on ignore now just in case.

ok. let's do that.

i think the politics regulars should be directed to this thread. and if there is anyone out there who avoids the politics forum, but would go there if the place was different, i'd like to hear from you as well.

one more thing. this thread is going to be a group effort in making the politics forum a place people want to be. I will personally ban people who get nasty in this thread. i understand that politics debates often become nasty, and i think that is frequently ok. but not in this thread.

I would address this to Nieliso, but he has me on ignore.

I thought mods were un-ignorable.

See pittm's earlier post about ignoring them before they become mods.

In all seriousness, I think any new mod for politics needs to be someone

1) with a lot of previous modding experience

2) who rarely if ever posts in politics

One of the downsides to reading in flat mode and replying as you go. :|

I would start with the premise that it is not unreasonable to remove discussions (posters) who are so far on the extreme or fringes that its either inflammatory or otherwise found repulsive to the vast majority of posters.

I also think that many people avoid the forum because of the illustration I did in my original post. it is entirely too frustrating to read let alone participate in a thread when two or a small group of posters are dominating the discussion by refusing to not get the last word.

If I were mod I would start here and Id like to see who ever becomes mod do the same

A politics forum should be open to free and open speech and not be a haven for political correctness. Just limit all the AC talk to AC specific threads.

Andyfox and vulturesrow were good model moderators, more of the same please.
