admin: Chris Ferguson at Full Tilt Poker in reddish writing in the chat box while playing begs for a little more slack then someone falling for the email that you described, no?

I'm generally one of the first to lay into people but I think that people need to cut OP a little slack here. He made a foolish mistake and admitted it without making major excuses or blaming anyone other than himself.

He then came here and tried to prevent his misfortune from happening to someone else. Seems like pretty honest intentions. Everyone piling on hard might make future posters reluctant to share info such as this. Plenty of easy targets for ripping apart in BBV, and the majority of them genuinely deserve it. Join me.

Excellent post. It's a shame that the BBV mentality has taken over every other subforum as well.

Seems like attempted scams at FTP have been going on for a while.

The fact that this is still going on, and FTP haven't figured out a workaround, is very disappointing

You already know that this wasn't a very wise thing to do, so I'm not going to beat you up about that. I will give you some info that might help you. Here is a quick NSLookup result for the domain:

Domain Name.......... 100k-fulltiltpoker.com
Creation Date........ 2007-03-05
Registration Date.... 2007-03-05
Expiry Date.......... 2008-03-05
Organisation Name.... John Crew
Organisation Address. P O Box 99800
Organisation Address.
Organisation Address. EmeryVille
Organisation Address. 94662
Organisation Address. CA
Organisation Address. US

Admin Name........... PrivateRegContact Admin
Admin Address........ P O Box 99800
Admin Address........
Admin Address........ EmeryVille
Admin Address........ 94662
Admin Address........ CA
Admin Address........ US
Admin Email.......... contact@myprivateregistration.com
Admin Phone.......... +1.5105952002
Admin Fax............

Tech Name............ PrivateRegContact TECH
Tech Address......... P O Box 99800
Tech Address.........
Tech Address......... EmeryVille
Tech Address......... 94662
Tech Address......... CA
Tech Address......... US
Tech Email........... contact@myprivateregistration.com
Tech Phone........... +1.5105952002
Tech Fax.............
Name Server.......... yns1.yahoo.com
Name Server.......... yns2.yahoo.com

The information that you should find most interesting, is:

1.) This domain was created today

2.) It is using Yahoo! name servers

3.) Who is this guy "John Crew" listed in the org name? (It may be nothing, but you would be surprised how stupid some of these scammers can be).

and 4.) You can find out who the listed tech support phone number (5105952002) belongs to. Might be a dead end, but maybe not.

I'd probably start with Yahoo! Explain to them the situation, and they might be able to help you find the person behind the website. Then contact the CA Attorney Generals office to see if they can help. The best way to keep this person from using your SSN, is to get him prosecuted for identity theft, or at least be afraid that he's going to be. You may not have any luck, but it's worth a try.

Good luck.

FTP could pretty easily block the viewer chat. Party did that long ago.
