I wasn't complaining about "lack of subway access," just noting that you'd be walking at least 4 blocks (its 4 to the 2,3 -- 6 to get to the 4,5 which is at Fulton/Broadway) and it can be rather unpleasant.

I am fully awareof how far the various subway entrances are. I've never heard anyone complain about the walk from 200 Water St. to the 2/3/A/C entrance. What portion of the city do you think is less than a 4 minute walk to the subway?

Maybe you have a higher tolerance for bums then I do. I barely saw any bums around Murray Hill/Gramercy/Midtown East at night ... so the contrast was stark.

I don't know dude, I probably do have a "higher tolerance for bums" since they don't bother me. If you have a problem with bums then I don't know what to say, good luck in New York.

Claiming there are no bums in Murray Hill, Gramercy and midtown is absolute bs though. The 33rd St. 6 station has got to be the most popular place in the city for bums. There's a group of 15-20 that live there and I've seen many times.
