Re: TP3K in gross spot in RR pot against huge donk kinda deep ZOMG
I'd go with my gut here, but I wasnt at table and am not that great at interpreting stats on paper but I think you are going to get burned so I think its pretty close but I fold river as played.

Checking the flop here is fairly bad. I'd bet more on flop and def fold river.

[ QUOTE ]
My friend said that he thinks the donk's range is heavily weighted towards any pair on this flop and went on for hours about betting being awful against a bad player having a pair here, heh. I just wanted to keep the thread focused on the real decision. [/ QUOTE ] You're friend sounds awful. You still have 25% equity against pairs, and he has a hard call with small pairs that aren't sets. You also get AK-AQ to fold and sometimes can bluff the scare cards (K/Q maybe backdoor ones). |

Re: TP3K in gross spot in RR pot against huge donk kinda deep ZOMG
I may have exaggerated with "he's donating freely," I really should have been more specific. I'd say more accurately that he has a difficult time letting go of pairs before calling down 2 streets (usually folds riv, sometimes turn), def isn't letting go of top pair too often, standard donkish stuff but not overly aggressive or spewtacular. Sorry for not including that in OP, my bad.
On a side note, Isura, I'm trying to balance my strategy in RR pots by leading more often and for smaller amounts; the reason being that I hate checking the flop simply because so many TAGs are spewtastic when calling 3bs and folding to cbets. However, doing so for a large amount every time can get expensive when people play back, and I'm usually not worried about "protecting" my good hands with a small stackot ratio behind; thus, I bet more often and bet less. |

Re: TP3K in gross spot in RR pot against huge donk kinda deep ZOMG
I like to bet more because it is hard to call, and also I get more value for when they call and check/fold a later street. I don't hate the bet size, but against this guy I think this betsize is not good because he won't dump a better hand (it doesn't seem like you're putting his stack at risk, ie you're not leveraging your stack). And 50% vpip has a range much much wider than PPs, so this is a great flop to c-bet and take down a nice sized pots.

Definitely fold the river IMO. I'm tired and I'll elaborate later.

Check flop, bet turn, fold river.
No way this villain folds any pair on flop. I'd be surprised if he folded AK, maaaybe AQ. To be honest, I dunno why you considered calling river. I'd want to see a few big overbets on the river before I considered calling. I'd say villain has trips as a minimum. |

I'd call here. I don't really know why I would but I think you see 87, 99, 65, etc enough to call here.
Donks love to bet "scare" cards and represent hands that aren't in their range at all. I think he is trying to represent a 4 here. I would call. |

Re: TP3K in gross spot in RR pot against huge donk kinda deep ZOMG
i think this is a pretty easy river fold.
his line doesnt make any sense except for a monster; he hasnt gotten out of line, you chkd the turn he doesnt think he has to shove as a bluff, hes not shoving for value with a hand you beat, hes just shoving with a 4 or straight or boat in hopes you try to make a hero call. |
