If you don't like that spot you should play lower or take up a different hobby, like watching TV.

We certainly don't HAVE to go to the river, especially against a loose passive.

I'm thinking about this a little bit. I don't play live that often, so I don't have to face straddles, but I am thinking about playing live more, so I probably have to make this a consideration.

Maybe I need more GAMBOL! in me, but I've always played hands with showdown value in these situations, regardless of my position.

okay guys i'll take the weak-tight bait. we don't have a good hand. we have eight high and the other card isn't an eight or even as high as an eight. now, i understand that if we have a good image, poker face, karma, and all that, that we will either flop a flush (which as we all know happens every third hand) or will be able to just bet a lot postflop and make everyone fold as we release our inner lags. but for those of us who, you know, like poker but see this as a [censored] hand to make this play with (unless you advocate making this play with any two, in which case the discussion seems sort of meaningless), what would you advise? thanks.
