I have a brother and a sister that share the same birthday, July 16, they were also born 16 years apart.

almost immediately we became each others' favorite cousins. at two years old she was asking her parents almost every day when she would see me next. she won't leave my side unless it's to play hide-and-seek, not even once in 3-4 hours.

I don't know if this is a coincidence or just weird.

I used to live in NYC on the UES and starting dating my current gf right before I left town to move to DC. She lived in east-midtown in a doorman building. We make frequent trips, but no one that worked in the building would know my name, and I've never had any mail or packages addressed to me at her apartment. One day while checking her mail, the writing on the inside say's her name, and scribbled next to it is my first and last name. We delibirate as to how on earth it could have happened and I have no answer. She even asked her doorman if they put the name in there and no one knew anything about it. This was about a year ago.

She moves cross-town to have an easier commute to grad school and to save some money moves into a new apartment with her sister. Her sister signs the lease and my gf is not listed on it anywhere. Yes, once again after about 4 months of them living there my name shows up next to their's on the mailbox. I have never received any mail there, and they don't have a doorman or anyone that would know me in the building. This she just found last week and she has yet to ask her super if he knows anything about it.

The only person that could put my name on it would be the postman, but how the heck would they know?

There are no small coincidences and big coincidences! No, there are only coincidences!

I once ran into a girl I knew from Kansas City in the Narita airport in Tokyo. I saw her coming and just nodded as she saw me and said "What's up?". She just about blew a gasket.

I have a good friend in LA who was roommates with my best friend's (eventual) wife in college in MO. Also she dated my downstairs neighbor and pretty good friend from Kansas City, when they both moved to LA. The neighbor and her college roommate had never met. So I would have gotten to know her through either connection.

Oh yeah, the ultimate two I've ever heard are both from Burning Man (hippie-raver-art festival in the Nevada desert, really cool, life-changing experience):

My friend has another friend who had made a short indy film and put a Todd Rundgren song on the end of it. He was really worried about putting the song on there w/o the rights. So he's at Burning Man, turns around and Todd Rundgren is right behind him in line at the Chai bar. He tells Todd Rundgren the story, and Todd signs over a release for the song on a napkin.

Some dude had met another dude at Burning Man when they were both going through a rough time. 2nd dude moved out to Santa Monica, to be roomies with the 1st, cleaned up his life. 6 months later, first dude is talking to his Mom on the phone, realizes 2nd dude is his first cousin on his Mom's side. 1st dude told me this as we were pulling garbage bags full of nitrous over our heads. Definitely enhances the story. Oh yeah, I told my friends this story, and the next year after a long night one of them comes running up to me - "I met the cousin guy. And he told me the same story.!" Out of 25,000 people, a year later, that's pretty weird.

I bought a pair of pants but they didn't fit right. So I am going to go on the Subway to take the pants back. Unfortunately, there are some tunnel dwelers there who chase me. I run from them and fall in a pile of mud and ruin the very pants I was returning.
