Re: Sean Payton Coach of the Year
a sign of a well coached team is a team that wins every game its supposed to. Jets won every game they were supposed to.....if you count offseason moves in the discussion tho i give it to peyton because brees especially was such a good signing

Well, that doesn't make sense. Why penalize Payton because he put together a better team? [/ QUOTE ] Is Payton the GM? |

He's got a lot of say in the personnel decisions.

He's got a lot of say in the personnel decisions. [/ QUOTE ] That's [censored]. I'm not saying he does or doesn't, but personnel shouldn't be a factor at all in the COTY award. Too varied from team to team, too vague. I think he deserves the award, but I'm surprised you of all people would think his "input into personnel" as a factor that should be contributed. |

Re: Sean Payton Coach of the Year
Well, I don't think I understand. You think he just luckboxed into getting Brees, Colston, and the other half of the roster that was turned over? Or should we just vote on the award like he did?

[/ QUOTE ] Sure, some moves turned out great, other didn't, I'm not super-familiar with the extent of the NO roster turnover but that isn't my point anyways. I'm saying that given that each coach has a different amount of input in personnel, you can't factor offseason moves in coaching awards. |
