Re: Something weird I started doing
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I care, but I do not believe that dreams mean anything. I think that dreams are just the brain cells doing whatever it is that brain cells do when the body's resting. I even think that our emotions (even love)are little more than physiological/chemical/electrical reactions to various stimuli. [/ QUOTE ] errrr...dreams are the window to enlightenment [/ QUOTE ] oh? i would like to be enlightened. can you teach me? |

Re: Something weird I started doing
ive learned something about dreams over my many years of being alive: nobody cares about your dreams. no matter how cool they are to you, telling your dreams to other people is not entertaining or interesting to them in the least.

Re: Something weird I started doing
I started doing this to try and control my dreams better and make myself better at "lucid dreams", which is when you are in control of your own dreams. This is done by writing down your dreams until you get good at remembering them right when you wake up.
Another posted mentioned this, but you need to find a way while dreaming to let yourself know its a dream. If you want lucid dreams, start this. Twice during the day, ask yourself "Is this a dream?" and look at your hands. If you have 5 fingers then it's real life. (You will obv. know it's real life, but you need to get yourself in the habit) If you do this in a dream and ask yourself "is this a dream?" and look at your hands, your hand/hands will always be screwed up and you will know it's a dream. 90% of the time I do this, I have 6 fingers, and my mind immediatly says "this is a dream". I then proceed to bang every girl I see. |

If you'd like, read some Jung, or the Deptford Trilogy by your fellow Canadian, Robertson Davies. Davies has some interesting thoughts on the process, but you have to wade through a couple of novels before you get to them. [/ QUOTE ] Ironic you should bring him up; Davies is an alumnus of my elementary/high school and in fact based Fifth Business on his experiences there. I definitely am interested in Jung, after my Myers-Briggs post in BBV4LIFE. |
