I just want to add that I'm all for making tough calldowns on the river if necessary. You have to do it a certain percentage of the time to keep from being abused, even at the risk of looking stupid in an individual instance. But I'm not for calling weak on early streets and getting unecessarily put in that position.

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree 100% with this. I don't mind the river but I should just pass earlier.

I'd just fold the flop because even if you're ahead he's drawing very live, it's just not worth it

BT you really think Gus is betting 'any scraggly 2 pair' on the river? I think he'd c/c. Also I'll join the chorus in saying that the flop call can't be good. The turn might be good, IF you think Gus will fire a blank river 100% if you just call the turn and think that Gus will not value bet thinly on a blank river.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think he wouldn't value bet a weak two pair but might try to bluff me off a set with it. Kinda do what I did but the opposite, lead with a marginal hand and just keep firing.

what had been happening to up to this hand to make you call him down here?

[/ QUOTE ]

Jsut thought he was drawing. Didn't think he had a set or a straight.

I think this is a fold on the turn. Not flop or river. Haven't read results.

I don't really like any part of your play in this hand except preflop

It's one thing to make thin calls but... this is less than thin. And then again, if you check the hand I just posted on the Low Content thread with gus who knows (though that one is basically a preflop decision unlike this one)
