Re: Healthy Alcoholic\'s Guide
I googled it and the first link says more or less what I said:
http://www.thefactsaboutfitness.com/...ch/alcohol.htm Five or six years ago I decided to try a low-carb diet. I still wanted to go out, though, so I started drinking Vodka with like Diet Rite or Diet Squirt or whatever. It didn't work out very well. That's when I started asking questions about alcohol at the gym and I was more or less told that if I planned to make any real progress, I should cut out the alcohol more than maybe once a month. |

Re: Healthy Alcoholic\'s Guide
[ QUOTE ]
I was told by a trainer a long time ago that a good estimate would be that one night of binge drinking would set you back one weeks worth of lifting when you were trying to gain muscle mass. I suspect it's probably something like that for weight loss as well. [/ QUOTE ] That's BS. Most trainers don't know what the [censored] they are talking about 99% of time. |

This sounds a bit exaggerated. [/ QUOTE ] Like I said, it was something I was told by a trainer and it was an estimate so take that for what it's worth. Besides, there's really no way to quantify exactly how many workout sessions a case of beer wipes out is there??? |

It doesn't completely back up what I was told, but it is some good information along those lines: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/swordchucks3.htm I just finished reading it, though, and towards the bottom it does say this: "In fact, in the time period it takes for the body to return to normal, which can be anywhere from 3 days to one week, you will still be negatively impacted." |

Re: Healthy Alcoholic\'s Guide
I'm actually a huge eater, but I work out a ton(usually every day for about an hour, sometimes up to 3 or 4 hours if I'm playing a sport)...I actually always lose a ton of weight when I binge drink because I never eat when I drink and I'm usually eating if I'm not drinking....lucky me!
